GMIoT Salford University

Weststone Construction successfully delivered the full civils, substructure, and external works package for the University of Salford’s new Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIoT) development. The project encompassed all elements from early site preparation through to completion, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality build throughout every stage of delivery.

The works included extensive groundworks, reinforced concrete foundations, drainage systems, and service installations, forming the structural base for this state-of-the-art education facility. Externally, Weststone’s self-delivery teams completed retaining wall construction, soft and hard landscaping, access routes, and surface finishes, designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding university campus. The project was executed to the highest standards of safety, precision, and environmental awareness, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Through effective management, technical expertise, and skilled self-delivery, Weststone Construction demonstrated its ability to deliver complex, high-quality construction projects within the education sector — combining engineering excellence with a commitment to reliability and performance.
